Gone are the days of buying cameras and waiting for photos to develop. Now, capturing moments is instant, thanks to digital technology. Photos can be seen and shared in seconds, making memories more immediate and accessible.
The entry of drones escalated photography to new heights. Both professional and amateur photographers use them to offer unique perspectives. Aerial views, once impossible, are now commonplace, revealing a world of unexpected beauty and intricate detail, mesmerizing millions of viewers worldwide.
These drone images are not just photos but stories told from above. Each picture unveils a blend of nature and civilization. This new perspective, both alien and familiar, captivates viewers, offering an extraordinary visual journey that ignites awe and wonder with every glimpse.
No Dream is Too High
This image captured by a drone might make your heart race, just looking at it is scary enough. Well, imagine what it feels like to walk on this path. A tip: don’t look down. Tianmen Mountain stands at 5,000 feet tall and is located in Hunan province, China. A temple awaits at the end of the trail.
The trail was originally built using wooden planks, but these were later replaced by glass. This means that people get a clear and terrifying image, when looking down. There’s a cable car for people who don’t dare to risk taking the trail.
Swimming Amongst Sharks
Many people find joy in risking their lives for an adventure, but floating in an ocean full of sharks is on another level. The ocean is undeniably fascinating, but no one can anticipate how these sharks will react.
This woman doesn’t look worried at all while floating lazily, blissfully unaware. She seems to even enjoy the sun! Rumors say the woman had no idea about the number of sharks surrounding her. Escaping the situation must have been quite tense.
Don’t Stop Reading the Book
What’s with people being so comfortable while surrounded by sharks? Didn’t anyone watch the movie Jaws? Because that’s enough for anyone to avoid getting into the water, right?
While taking some alone time in the ocean reading her book, this woman was visited by a shark the same size as her board. Known for its unique features, the hammerhead shark is known to move in massive groups, sometimes around 100 creatures. Who knows how many more might be on the way?
Not Suitable for the Faint-hearted
No matter the number of ropes holding you, no one can be sure about climbing all that way. Going on a solo climb and finding oneself in such a situation is rather unfortunate.
Climbing up to this spot, the climber realized there were loose rocks above him. Let’s face it; there’s no quick way down. This pulse-racing cliff is located in Utah and is quite popular among professional climbers.
Missing Man
In the ’90s, there was an astounding and sad story about a man in his forties who vanished in Florida. He seemed to have disappeared off the face of the Earth after heading to work. With the police working tirelessly to solve the case, people were terrified and worried.
The mystery lasted for over 22 years. Then, one day, a drone captured an image of this one lake. On closer inspection, the drone’s owner saw a car at the bottom of the lake. Unfortunately, due to the passage of time, no one could figure out how the accident occurred.
For the Rich and Famous
If this isn’t luxury, we don’t know what is. At 1,000 feet high, the rich and famous can play tennis here. With stunning views of Dubai, this tennis court sits atop the Burj Al Arab.
It’s amazing for the people playing at this cout, but surely confusing for those passing below, especially if suddenly hit by a tennis ball. Ouch!
his Photo is a Result of War
This picture was taken in a city in Syria and won’t give you an adrenaline rush. This sorrowful drone image shows us the Middle East devastated after war. Wars resemble a persistent plague that overstays its welcome.
Peoples’ homes were destroyed; some families couldn’t return to them. This once was a city full of life and people; sadly, it’s no longer the case. Everywhere you look, you’ll see devastation.
The City of Pripyat
At some point in our lives, we’ve all heard about the nuclear disaster that happened in Chernobyl, whether in a history class or from a famous TV show. It was an event that shook the world.
In 1986, the city of Pripyat was evacuated, some days after the actual incident. People were told to leave everything behind and get out as quickly as possible. The deserted city still stands, almost as if it’s waiting for its inhabitants to return.
From a View Even Birds Don’t Have
We can now capture images of things we could never have imagined thanks to drones. From skyscrapers and mountains, to cameras flying over active volcanoes and more. Very hazardous locations that almost no one visits, are no longer a mystery. Photography has taken flight, literally.
This drone is flying over a river of lava in Iceland. It gives us a view of what happens atop the volcano after its eruption.
High Above the Clouds
In foggy Spain, the magnificent Expiatori Del Sagrat Cor temple in Barcelona can be seen through the clouds.
Standing tall and majestic atop the church, we see this statue demanding our attention. The view is absolutely beautiful and truly makes us see the world differently.
Majestic Mammals in the Sahara
Elephants are known to be one of the most majestic and intelligent mammals on this earth. The soul of this animal can clearly be seen through its eyes.
They group with family members, just like humans, always protecting the smallest elephant. We can see this group of elephants ensuring that the little ones stay in the middle, shielding them from danger.
Looks Like an Astronaut on Another Planet
It looks like something that would even be too wild for a sci-fi movie. This image is truly impressive. Is this an astronaut on another planet about to be covered by lava? No, it’s not.
In reality, this is a scientist studying a volcano. He is shielded from the heat by a silver suit. He needs to get as close as possible to take samples of the volcano for the laboratory. Now that’s a risky job.
Watching Each Other’s Backs
As they walk in search of a safe place to relax, these elephants find themselves in a rather unfortunate situation. Not only is there no food on these lands for them, but a pride of lions has them in their sights.
In search of their next prey, the lions are gathered in a circle around the elephants. As you can see, the elephants back into each other to form a circle, allowing them to watch the lions from different angles.
A Perfect Moment of Beauty
We owe this beautiful image entirely to the invention of drones. The artist Saype created this outdoor artwork using biodegradable materials. He’s now laying on his own creation.
This magical image showcases a giant painting of a young girl pushing a piece of paper toward a lake near her home. The artwork was inspired by a moment of beauty captured by the artist while at his lake house.
The Chase Begins
Gazelles are known for their anxious behavior as they constantly must escape from predators. It would be nearly impossible to get this close to these animals without a drone. Being alert all the time, they are often on edge and seldom take a rest.
They got scared by the drone and started running, but thanks to the flying technology of the drone, we can follow them for a few miles.
Red River
In Cusco, Peru, this daunting red river looks like something out of a horror movie. But worry not; there’s nothing sinister about it. It’s a beautiful creation from Mother Earth. The Red River gets its color from the mineral deposits found in its clay bed.
Thanks to erosion, the clay mixes with the water, creating this color. Because of that, the river looks like something from another planet.
Free Food
This giant mammal, one of the largest known to exist, is said to have been in our oceans for millions of years. Sadly, this humpback whale is no longer alive, and its body floats on the water’s surface.
Sharks begin to feast on this dead whale, seizing the opportunity to catch an easy meal. This is nature at its finest. We can only hope the whale died of natural causes.
Are You a Believer?
These circles have been shown in movies for a long time. But the question is: Are you a believer? The first crop circles were reported in 1860. Most people ignored them and weren’t interested in what they could mean.
They were assumed to be connected to UFOs and aliens. Are these strange circles proof that aliens exist? Or are they just a joke? Nobody knows, except the secret forces working in Area 51, of course.
That’s a Big Explosion
Gas explosions are one of the most dangerous things on earth and the results are always devastating. After an undiscovered gas leak, it didn’t take long until this house exploded. Luckily, nobody was in the house when it happened.
Parts of the house were found miles around and the house was completely destroyed with everything inside it. Luckily, the garage kept the neighbors safe. They were lucky to escape.
A Different View
A drone captured the incredible Sagrat Cor church located in Barcelona, Spain, from an entirely new angle. This church is on top of a mountain, and from there you can see the view for miles and miles.
The Roman Catholic church, also known as the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, first opened in 1961. This masterpiece was started by architect Enric Sagnier and finished by his son.
Capturing An Intimate Moment
Flying over this happy couple, a drone managed to capture their marriage proposal. On the shoreline of this beautiful, romantic beach, this man got on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend.
To make this moment even more special, the sunset creates beautiful shadows of these lovebirds. We only hope the couple managed to get a hold of this beautiful picture.
Living On The Edge
Everyone holds a special place in their hearts for their homes, and some people manage to live in the same place their entire life. This house is perfectly located on the edge of a cliff in Georgia and is a monk’s home.
At 140 feet high, the church is the highest point of Katskhi Pillar and sits in a small village. To get to and leave the village, there’s a tall ladder that any visitor has to climb. Some people would give anything for such a house with a bit of peace and tranquility.
The Star Fort
Being able to see this beautiful place with a bird’s eye view is very special. It is located in a quiet, picturesque village in the east part of the Netherlands. The image shows a Dutch fort from way back when.
It’s star-shaped and has been converted into a museum. In this picture, you can appreciate all the effort put into the building and surrounding landscape.
What Do You See Here?
This image will definitely make you look twice and might appear as an optical illusion. So, what do you see here? Have you guessed it? Is it really a boat stranded on dry land?
Well, it’s not. This is the transparent Burke Lake located in Virginia. The bottom is barren, with no life on it whatsoever. It’s a fantastic photo and apparently a good spot for a picnic.
The Incredible Beauty From Above Southeast Asia
Southeast Asia is one of the most beautiful places in the world to take pictures. With its unique colors, plants, sceneries, and much more – the possibilities are endless. This lady was captured working in the Mekong River delta in Vietnam.
This image managed to catch many eyes, and secured the second place in the international drone photography competition, competing with another 8000 photographs. Now that’s an achievement!
Climbing The Building
Not a job for the faint-hearted. There are some people who spend their days climbing skyscrapers and cleaning the windows of gigantic buildings. They secure themselves well, take everything they need with them, and make stops along the way.
This image was taken in Moscow. You can see the beautiful colors of the sunset and the reflection of the city in the glass. It might be a lonely job, but it’s definitely an exciting one.
City Life Can Be Beautiful Too
Since drones became a common sight, flying above us, some countries have introduced new laws to prevent people from using them. These laws are mainly to prevent countries from spying on one another.
In bustling cities, roads cross over each other, and this shot exactly shows that happening and how perfect roads can be. This shot is of a highway in Shanghai, China. We’re not sure if no law was broken, taking this picture.
Flying Down The Road
Even though this looks like a road from another planet, this image was captured in Arizona. Flying a drone over the road can create this epic effect.
Cool, right? This photographer spent a good time driving around the United States, taking images of roads that no one had seen before. What a life!
Long And Winding Road
This takes us back to the Twilight movies. This winding road is situated in the middle of a forest, full of colors that are always changing. With shades of red, brown, and green, this road is surrounded by breathtaking views.
The road is located in Romania, and it’s not the only one. There are many beautiful drives you can take around the country, and if you wish, you can even stop and camp at some places.
An Italian Getaway
The view is utterly idyllic. This picturesque little village is Santa Maddalena, situated in Italy. With its delightful green meadows surrounded by mountains, this beautiful place is impressive every time of the year.
It has very few inhabitants, and everyone in the village knows each other. Most families have lived there all their lives, following in the footsteps of their grandparents. We definitely understand why.
Make Way, I Mean, Make Way
Another image of Mother Nature’s beauty. This image was taken in Vietnam. Enjoying the sun and wetting their feathers, those white dots are indeed ducks.
Many people in Asia farm ducks and keep them on large portions of land. This farmer was crossing a shallow part of the water, and the ducks made way for him to pass.
Desert Lines
What do you see first? The white stripes or the incredible shadow marks? This image was taken in Saudi Arabia, at the red dunes. Photographer Abdullah Alnassar came across these camels.
The camels were seeking a flat spot in the desert to settle down and follow each other. As the sun sets, it casts these wonderful shadows of the camels on the dunes.
From One Side to the Other
The North Pole is a place that few people can visit. It is home to unique people and beautiful wildlife. The cold is only tolerated by some.
Moving from one side of the ice to the other can be tricky if you want to avoid falling into the water. This polar bear is trying to reach its next resting place. Thanks to the size of the drone, it managed to fly just above the polar bear, without scaring it.
Nature Always Wins
The earth has endured many things over the centuries, and pieces of land that were once filled with people have been reclaimed by nature. This building was partially destroyed in a battle.
The front of the building remained standing, and then nature took over the space, creating this magnificent view. It is surrounded by greenery, and the sight truly takes one’s breath away.
The Little House in the Bay
As time passes, the ground erodes due to weather conditions. This is exactly what happened here. It was once connected to a small village by the sea, but then this piece of land managed to separate from the rest.
It is floating between Canada and New York in Alexandria Bay. This house offers maximum privacy, and those who want to visit can access it by boat. It is not far from the coast, but it would still be an effort to swim to it.
Chasing Waterfalls
If there’s a waterfall on a trip, it must be visited. You have to bathe in it, and, obviously, take the perfect picture. Mardalsfossen is located in Norway and is one of the highest waterfalls in all of Europe.
The water comes down from about 1200 feet high, and thanks to the wonders of nature, it falls onto a misty background. The water temperature is icy.
